Skincare Do’s and Don’ts.

Skincare is the most significant aspect of personal grooming because it is your skin that everybody sees. When it comes to skincare, people link it to age and consider it to be a thing for people who are turning old. Or, to people having some skin issues. So, it is essential to understand that skincare is necessary for all irrespective of age and skin type.
Even if you are at home, not dealing with pollution, you still need to make sure nothing is at your face before you sleep.

Why skincare is important?

Skincare is significant not just because everybody sees it, but also because it protects our body from various outside elements. To be more convincing, let me tell you a fact, The skin sheds itself every day. So, if you do not take care of your skin, you may leave all the dead skin on your new skin, and the new skin will appear dull. And, who wants that?
Also, prevention is always better than cure. So instead of being careless about your skin and facing issues in the future, let’s take care of it.

LOOK GOOD FEEL GOOD

If you look good, you feel good. So having bright skin can make you more confident about yourself and make you look your best.

Some people do not prefer using any skincare products, and some prefer directly applying natural ingredients on the skin.
Below is a skincare routine for all skin types.

But first, let’s look upon the various possible skin types.

Normal skin

Lucky are the people who have this type of skin. This skin is a well-balanced skin type. It does not feel oily, dry, or sensitive.

Dry skin

This type of skin produces fewer sebum oils than healthy skin. Hence, this skin type is unable to retain moisture. This skin type feels easily irritated and tensed.

Oily skin

This skin type usually has larger sebaceous glands that produce excess oils. Due to this excess production, the skin feels greasy, and you feel the need to wash it again and again. This skin type is prone to acne, as well.

Combination skin

This skin type is a mix of oily and dry skin. The skin feels dry in some areas and oily on another. The texture of the skin also changes from area to area.

HERE IS A LIST OF THINGS YOU CAN DO FOR A HEALTHIER SKIN.

Know your skin type.

The first step towards skincare is to know your skin type. Once you know your skin type, you will know how to take care of it. Different skin types require different care routines. If you know your skin type, you will know what all ingredients and products work best on your skin. Find out your skin type from the above.

Drink lots and lots of water.

Drinking an adequate amount of water is prevention to many health issues and is also beneficial for the body. The more water you drink, the more toxin substances get out of the body, keeping you and your skin bright. Moreover, water is essential to keep the skin and body hydrated.
Dehydration makes you feel tired, and your skin feels that too. So drinking plenty of water will make your skin more radiant, more apparent, and smoother.

Get enough sleep

Each cell in the body needs rest, so does the skin cell. When you sleep, new skin cells begin to repair the damaged skin cells. This repair cannot take place without an adequate amount of sleep, making your skin look unfresh and dull.

Eat healthy food

If you plan on working towards getting healthy skin, your first step should be to eat healthily. Load your meals with foods rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, E, A, and beta carotene. Avoid junk food, alcohol, and caffeine.

Avoid hot showers

Hot water showers lead to opening up of the pores on the skin, which leads to moisture loss. You can use warm water to shower and wash your face to prevent this. Hot water also rips your skin off the natural oils, and proteins leaving it unhealthy and dull. It can also cause inflammation, dryness, redness, and even itching.

THESE ARE SOME OF THE ESSENTIAL SKINCARE PRODUCTS.

Sunscreen

Sun is the leading cause of skin damages. So avoid going out without sunscreen. Sunscreen helps fight the damaging effect of the UVA and UVB rays. These rays can cause early skin aging, wrinkles, and also skin cancer.

Cleansing oil

It is essential to take off all the makeup and dirt from your face. A cleansing oil pulls out all the dirt smoothly. It acts upon the sebum and SPF on the surface of the skin.

Cleanser

A cleanser facilitates further removal of any dirt or other substances.
It should not make the skin dry and tight. Cleanser helps to get rid of the sweat, bacteria, and old skin cells. It cleans much deeper into the pores to remove any impurities.

Toner

A toner can help close pores and reduce cell gaps after cleansing. It can help in decreasing the entry of impurities into the skin. It can protect and eliminate chlorine and minerals present in tap water to enter your skin.

Exfoliator

Exfoliation is the process of removal of dry or dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. Exfoliation increases blood circulation and helps to prevent many skin problems. Hence, having a good exfoliator will help you attain healthy and glowing skin.
Avoid excess exfoliating as that can be harmful to the skin.

Creme

The creme helps to retain moisture in the skin. Loss of moisture leads to dehydration, and your skin looks dull. Moisturizing has many benefits. It prevents many skin problems and helps the skin to stay young. It also helps fight wrinkles and reduces the appearance of blemishes. Do not forget to apply a light cream on cheeks, forehead, nose, and hands.

Eye gel

A lot of people do not consider this to be significant and continue to apply their regular face cream near the eyes. But, the area near the eye is sensitive as compared to your whole face. Using regular face creams that can be harsh for the delicate region can lead to the puffing of eyes and other eye issues.

Serum

A serum is to apply to your skin after cleansing but before moisturizing. It helps in delivering the essentials directly into the skin. It has tinier molecules that can enter deeply into the skin. You can use the serum at night so that you can reap the benefits while you sleep.

Mask

A face mask is an essential skincare product. It helps refine the pores and increases hydration. Mask diminishes fine lines and gives an even skin tone. It is also helpful in firming and tightening the skin.
