E-sports brand Cloud 9 collaborates with Sports wear brand PUMA for its first ever clothing collection.
eSports is gaining global popularity and Puma being the already fast growing brand, the collaboration will give a boost to sales and popularity of both the brands and the audience exchange will lead to an expansion of audiences of the two brand individually as well.
A sponsorship deal was signed between the two brands in January to make league shirts and bottoms. The announcement made by Puma highlights the deal to be a multi year deal, in which they will be making clothes for players of eSports as they do for non-virtual sports players.
Puma is in an attempt to get into new things, it also launched its first ever swim collection since 2016. Also a basketball sneaker entering back to that field after 20years.
Other brands like Nike, Adidas, Champion and K-Swiss esport also deal with apparel for eSports brands.
The collection comprises of clothing for men and women and also unisex items. The collection ranges from 28$ to 75$ and is available on both PUMA’s and CLOUD9’s website.
On this Adam Patrick (global director of brand and marketing-PUMA) says; “Tapping into the world of esports and its broad, dynamic consumer audience, is critical to our marketing strategy moving forward.”
He believes that this collaboration will lead to expand the stance of the brand globally.
Cloud 9 is entering a new space through the apparel launch. On this the executive Vice president of commercial partnerships -CLOUD9, Jordan Udko says; “Being able to transcend esports and elevate our brand within a broader global audience is natural evolution of the growth of Cloud 9.”
Also Powell said; “Players want to identify themselves as players. If this is how they chose to do it, there is a mandatory opportunity. When the eSports player is focused on that as much as the real sport player remains to be seen.”
The collection is amazing as all other PUMA collections and one should definitely try it.
